Modded Toyota Tundra TRD Pro Would Make Anakin Skywalker Fall Prey to the Dark Side Again
Phoenix, Arizona-based Westcott Designs is not exclusively biased toward Toyota SUVs and trucks. Still, a great deal of its social media influence derives from showcasing products made by the Japanese automaker.

Westcott strikes out from the crowd in the sea of aftermarket outlets because it's not severely influenced by the Big Detroit Three automakers when it comes to its focus – trucks and truck-based SUVs. Yes, it also works on the GMC Yukon, GMC Sierra 1500 and HDs, or the AT4X models.

But their first love is Toyota, quite obviously. There's no need to take our word for granted because their social media formats – YouTube, Instagram, etc. – are brimming with passion for Tacoma, Sequoia, 4Runner, or the mighty Tundra. Basically, it's an all-you-can-eat buffet of adventurous 'Yotas in there.

And, from time to time, one of their creations manages to strike a chord and stand out in any crowd. Now, I am pretty sure they didn't want to appeal to Star Wars fans with this one, but I couldn't help but wonder if this all-black (murdered-out-style) truck wouldn't be able to attract Anakin Skywalker to the dark side all over again.

After all, he just appeared in Disney+'s latest series, Ashoka. Yep, pop culture has a way of circling back to its origins these days – with the (in)famous Hayden Christensen reprising his role as the most awesome baddie this and the other galaxy have ever seen. Sure, he's not James Earl Jones (voice) or David Prowse (the impressive physicality), but it's still cool to imagine an Earthly Darth Vader driving a Toyota truck!

Lols aside, this 2022 Toyota Tundra TRD Pro got my attention simply because it takes the trope of murdered-out vehicles – usually long limousines or big fat ultra-luxury SUVs – and gives it an off-road workhorse spin with help from the third-gen XK70 Toyota Tundra. The full-size pickup truck, which I credit for kicking off Toyota's great SUV and truck trend of late (Sequoia, Grand Highlander, all-new Tacoma, even the 2024 Land Cruiser), remains fresh even more than two years after its initial introduction.

Sure, the all-black attire (note the matching plastic bits and pieces) is also helpful, along with the Westcott modifications – the WD Preload Collar Lift kit, a set of Black Rhino Barricade wheels (20x90 offset), plus 35X12.50 Nitto Recon Grappler tires with the aftermarket outlet's tire clearance kit. Too bad we also can't see the interior, but I bet that one is just as black as the exterior.

By the way, if you want something a little different, the company's Solar Octane Sequoia was just upgraded (again) with a new Tundra Kings suspension front and rear, Dobinsons rear coil springs, plus 37-inch Nitto Recon Grapplers – and it now looks decidedly ready for great outlander adventures!
