Questions abound about Honda's ability to keep up with rivals in the all-electric future roadway of the late 2020s, and automakers will live and die by adapting to this trend pretty soon.

But with the new Honda 0 Series family of concept EVs, it looks like whatever Honda brings to market will at least look striking. But the 0 Series Saloon and 0 Series Space-Hub bring so much more to the table than just looks.

With the world watching at 2024's Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, these two Honda concepts could define the company's push to eliminate carbon emissions across all of its operations by 2050 for years to come. Thin, Wise, and Light" are the mantra calls of the 0 Series approach to the future of electric passenger cars. Thin, meaning a low, slung-down EV platform capable of bringing a sporty flair to whatever body sits over the top. Light, meaning only the highest grade, most durable build materials will make up its construction without tipping the scale, and wise through innovative vehicle software that brings a new layer of refinement over each of these two EVs' functions.

At least, that's what the marketing speak touts. But from first impressions alone, you feel like Honda genuinely applied these guidelines to the 0 Series Saloon and Space-Hub. While the Saloon gives an insight into what future sporty coupes and sedans might soon look like, the Space-Hub looks like something NASA would use to drive their astronauts to the launch pad before a flight to land on the moon. Indeed, such an aesthetic was no accident. One thing's for sure: if the electric Honda sports coupe of the future has a wedge shape like a Lamborghini in the late 2020s, we're all on board for it.

As for the Space-Hub, the implications of its design on the future of Honda's electric crossovers and full-on SUVs are ones that must delight CRV and Pilot owners. If the production variant of the Space-Hub looks even remotely as funky as what showed up at CES this year, you can expect a line out the door when Honda puts it on showroom floors in 2026. All this clever new design language is capped off by perhaps the biggest brand-image alteration for Honda since the company rose to prominence in North America in the early 1980s: an alteration to the iconic "H-Mark" emblem.

That iconic H-Mark's remained unchanged since 1981. In a move reminiscent of changes to the emblems of Honda's rivals at Kia, the all-electric revolution soon to come is turning out to be the perfect opportunity for brands to freshen their image. The sharper, cleaner, yet simplified H-Mark emblem debuting with the 0 Series might just be the change that gets people's attention. It sure did for us, and can you imagine what the Acrua versions might look like? Now that's exciting.
