The power plant includes: a 124-horsepower 2-liter gasoline engine, two 80-hp electric motors, an inverter, a generator and a 12kWh battery.
Outlander PHEV has 3 modes using different combinations of a gasoline engine and electric motors - EV Drive, Series Hybrid and Parallel Hybrid. In EV Drive mode, the car moves only on electric power (power reserve 40 km). Series Hybrid - in this case, the gasoline engine rotates the generator, which recharges the battery of electric motors. In the case of the Parallel Hybrid, the crossover is driven by a 2.0-liter unit, and the electric motors are switched on when necessary. Average fuel consumption in hybrid mode and during quiet city driving is 1.9 l/100 km (AND THIS IS REAL). With a mixed cycle it is 6-7 l/100 km. With intense driving and a speed of 140-150 kph it is up to 10 l/100 km. Fully charging the battery from a 220 volt network lasts 3-5 hours (THERE IS THE NECESSARY WIRING KIT FOR POWER)
